Public Transit

Taking public transit in Durham is becoming increasingly easy and convenient, especially for cyclists. All Triangle Transit buses except the RTP Shuttle vans are equipped with bike racks on the front of each bus. Check out Triangle Transit to learn about how to use the on-board bus racks and planning your own trip.

GoPass: A GoPass is a free transit pass from Triangle Transit and Duke Parking & Transportation Services. It allows unlimited use of all area transit networks (Triangle Transit, DATA, Capital Area Transit, and C-Tran).

Duke staff and faculty whose offices are on the East, West, Central and Medical Center campuses; the American Tobacco Campus or within one-half mile of the East, West, Central or Medical campuses are eligible. All undergraduate, graduate and professional school students are also eligible.

To get your pass, students and eligible employees may apply in person with a valid DukeCard at one of Duke’s Parking and Transportation offices, or tabling events:

  • 2010 Campus Dr. (near the corner of Campus Drive and Anderson Street). Open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • 04290 Duke Clinic (near the Medical Center Bookstore, on the same level as the Duke Clinic Food Court). Open Monday through Friday, 7:30a.m. to 3 p.m.

If you have questions about the GoPass, contact Brian Williams at (919) 684-3640 or bpw3@duke.edu
